What Is Wear-Protection Treatment?
Wear‑protection treatment refers to specialized surface treatments applied to machine parts and materials to prevent deterioration caused by friction and wear. These treatments help improve component performance and extend their service life.。
Benefits of Wear‑Protection Treatment
- Maintaining Production EfficiencyBy preventing failures and performance degradation caused by wear, these treatments help avoid production line stoppages and reduce the risk of quality defects.
- Reducing Maintenance CostsUsing highly durable materials and applying wear‑protection treatments reduce the frequency of part replacement and help lower repair costs.
- Stabilizing Product Quality
Wear protection helps prevent a decline in mixing quality due to wear, ensuring consistent product uniformity.

Solution Proposals / Introduction to Wear Protection Technology
We would like to introduce EIRICH’s wear protection technology. Our team of specialists selects the most suitable materials and treatment methods based on the raw materials and operating conditions, providing wear‑resistant solutions tailored to each customer’s specific needs.
Wear‑protection treatments are applied to the following three main component groups:
- Stirring Tools and Scrapers
Wear‑resistant reinforcement using techniques such as carbide tip brazing, hardfacing, metal plating, and thermal spraying. - Mixing Containers
Improved wear and corrosion resistance through metal plating and thermal spraying. - Pan Sealing (Seal for Mixing Container)
Enhanced sliding properties, wear resistance, and anti‑adhesion performance through surface modification treatments.
Carbide Tip Brazing
Target Components: Stirring tools, scrapers
Attaching high‑hardness carbide tips to the tool surface significantly increases durability. This method provides stable performance even under high‑load and high‑friction conditions.
It is particularly effective for slurry‑type raw materials.
Hardfacing
Target Components: Stirring tools, scrapers
This technique involves welding highly wear‑resistant and impact‑resistant metals onto the base material. It is well suited for hard raw materials (e.g., glass, mineral‑based powders) and greatly reduces tool wear.
Before shipment, an anti‑corrosion coating is applied to prevent rust during transport and storage.
Metal Plating / Thermal Spraying
Target Components: Stirring tools, scrapers, mixing containers
Metal plating is a surface treatment in which a thin metal layer is deposited onto the component surface.
This metallic coating increases surface hardness and improves sliding properties.Thermal spraying applies heated metal or ceramic materials onto the surface to form a protective coating. This treatment provides excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
Surface modification treatments
Target Components: Pan Sealing
Surface treatment using fine abrasive particles hardens and smooths the surface of the Pan sealing.
This enhances the durability of the Pan sealing, which is prone to wear.
Recommended Products
Eirich Intensive Mixer is a high-speed mixer and granulator designed for a wide range of processing tasks involving raw materials, mixtures, and compounds.Optimal material processing is achieved by selecting the appropriate mixing tool shape and rotation speed according to the application.
By adjusting the operating conditions, a single machine can handle multiple processes such as mixing, granulation, kneading, and slurry preparation. The mixer features a jacketed mixing pan for both cooling and heating, and offers a wide range of customizable options to accommodate various processes.
Advantages of the Eirich mixing principles
- Eccentrically positioned rotor tool (mixing tool)
The rotor tool shape, rotation direction, and speed range can be selected to suit the application. - Tool Set (scrapers)
It scrapes off raw materials adhering to the inner wall and bottom of the mixing pan, while simultaneously promoting efficient material transfer to the rotor tool. - Mixing Pan (mixing vessel)
Through rotation, all raw materials in the mixing pan are continuously supplied to the rotor tool.
Unique Mechanisms
- Short mixing time and high homogeneity
- Capable of processing raw materials with varying specific gravities
- The rotating mixing pan promotes material movement and reduces residue.
- By selecting the rotor tool shape and adjusting the mixing pan speed, the system can handle complex material processing
- Process integration enables compact and energy-efficient production systems
- Setting optimal operating parameters ensures consistent and reproducible material processing
